Known Issues

Serial Version UID Mismatch

A serial version UID mismatch is encountered when using Weblogic Server 9.2 with Sun Java 2 JDK 5.0 (version 1.5.0_03 or later) and JRockit 5.0 (R27.1).

Workaround: To be compatible with the serialization of perviously compiled applications, modify the <BEA_HOME>\Weblogic92\common\bin\commEnv.cmd file to include the following command:

JAVA_OPTIONS="$JAVA_OPTIONS -Dcom.sun.xml.namespace.QName.useCompatibleSerialVersionUID=1.0"

Note: If you intend to deploy new applications with previously compiled applications, they must be recompiled as necessary to have the same Serial Version UID.

Known Issues for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 on Itanium and 64-bit Xeon and AMD64

The Java Component Object (jCom) feature, available with WebLogic Server, is not supported on Windows 2003 on Itanium, AMD64 or 64-bit Xeon.

Downloading and Installing BEA JRockit 5.0

Go to the BEA download site at http://commerce.bea.com.

Click on the link for BEA JRockit.

Click on the link for JRockit 5.0.

Download and install the supported version of JRockit JDK for Intel 64-bit Xeon and AMD64:

Microsoft Windows (x86 - 32 bit)
Microsoft Windows (Intel 64-bit Xeon & AMD64 - 64 bit)

Update the JAVA_HOME environment variable to reflect the JDK installation directory. For example:

C:\>set JAVA_HOME=<JRockit_installation _directory>

Add your Java executables to the PATH environment variable:

C:\>set PATH=%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%PATH%

Microsoft Windows 2003 on x86

There are no special installation instructions for Microsoft Windows 2003 on x86. For the standard method of installing BEA products, see BEA Products Installation Guide.

Microsoft Windows 2003 on AMD64 and 64-bit Xeon

Complete the following procedures:

Downloading and Installing BEA JRockit 5.0.

Depending on your requirements:

Download and Install WebLogic Server 9.2 and Later MPs on 64-bit Xeon and AMD64

Download and Install WebLogic Portal 9.2 and Later MPs on 64-bit Xeon and AMD64

Download and Install WebLogic Server 9.2 and Later MPs on 64-bit Xeon and AMD64

To install WebLogic Server on Microsoft Windows 2003 on AMD64 and 64-bit Xeon, you need BEA JRockit 5.0 and the installer for WebLogic Server.

To install WebLogic Server:

Go to the BEA download site at http://commerce.bea.com/showallversions.jsp?family=WLS.

Under theWebLogic Server Package Installer, select Microsoft Windows (2003 x64, 64-bit Xeon, AMD64) from the list of OS Platforms for your configuration.

Download the .jar package installer.

Install WebLogic Server using the instructions provided in the "Using Installers with Filenames Ending in .jar" section of the WebLogic Server 9.2 Installation Guide.

From the list of OS Platforms for your ALSB release, select Microsoft Windows (2003, Itanium).

Download the .exe package installer.

Install BEA AquaLogic Service Bus on your Windows Server 2003 configuration by completing the Graphical mode installation procedure for .exe files. See:
